How it all began- written 2025

5 Years ago, on a particularly dreary day in pandemic lockdown, the search for purpose was feeling very heavy. I had just gotten married 2 months prior, finishing my second full year teaching music online, my husband was finishing his master's in opera performance…. all in our tiny one-bedroom apartment. I knew early childhood was my calling, but saw no possible way to make that into a full career. My college degree had groomed me for a career in the public school system.

 

On a walk through the park (when they finally reopened) Mr Miss Sally reminded me about my certification in parent and child music classes. This sparked something in my brain, and the journey began. We then walked laps around the park while I unraveled the whole thing in my brain.

 

We began with online classes only and moved to in-person classes that fall. One class with three children has now grown from a side hustle to a full-time job.
